What’s Oaklavía?

  • Experience car-free city streets for recreation and community building
  • Temporary traffic closures along the entire Oaklavía route.
  • Roadways become opportunities for strolling, cycling, roller skating, dancing, cafe seating, and people-watching
  • Organized activities for children and adults
  • A new way to enjoy the streets and celebrate our city

Walk Oakland Bike Oakland is proud to bring car-free open streets events to Oakland. Our inaugural event in 2010 brought over 4,000 people into the heart of Oakland to experience the city’s best natural and architectural assets, outdoor activities, and arts in some of our most well-loved and unique streets and neighborhoods.
