The activities at 2013 Love Our Lake Day included great performances, live music and games while walking and biking around the lake! Lining the route were salsa dancing, belly dancing, Taiko drumming, martial arts performances, sports games, free bike rentals, bike rodeo, hula hooping, pedal and paddle on the lake and much more. Musical storyteller who specializes in calypso, the musical and folkloric oral tradition of Trinidad, Asheba’s homeland. Stories of hope and happiness are the focus of his songs.
Capoeira Mandinga will be holding an open performance on the Brazilian Art-form of Capoeira, Maculelê and Samba de roda with participation of local capoeira community.
Cello Joe: Local cellist specializing in beat boxing and powered by pedal sound system.
The International Capoeira Angola Foundation (ICAF) is a non-profit international organization dedicated to the practice, preservation and growth of Capoeira Angola. Mestre Jurandir, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil leads the Oakland ICAF group.
Kenneth Pitts Martial Arts

The Soja community will be offering continuous demonstrations of traditional Asian martial arts that are non-competitive and flow based in nature. You will see kids and adult long and short forms, tumbling and adult friendly sparring demos throughout the afternoon. Soja’s traditional South Pacific Drumming circle will provide Tongan / Tahitian / Polynesian percussion.
The Bob and Lenny Show:
The Bob and Lenny Show will be providing musical entertainment – they specialize in playing Jazz, Motown, Blues, and Oldies Music on the guitar, ukulele, and trumpet.
Blue Diamonds Belly Dance
Student troupe of San Francisco’s FatChanceBellyDance® (FCBD, performing American Tribal Style® (ATS) belly dance throughout the Bay Area under the direction of FCBD founder Carolena Nericcio.
New Style Motherlode
New Style Motherlode Studio is the Bay Area’s first Hip Hop Dance Studio for people of all ages. They offer a range of Hip Hop dance styles along with Jazz dance, Modern, Salsa, Cardio, Zumba, African styles, Vogue and Fusion styles. China’s Spirit Music Ensemble

Thingamajigs is a genre-crossing arts organization that promotes, presents and performs music and other art forms created with made and found materials or alternate tuning systems.Their mission is to develop and nurture the exploration of alternate materials and methods of creating sound, as well as promote collaborative efforts within other artistic disciplines not generally associated with festivals of music.
While the JBPC often explores and unfolds new musical possibilities within their compositions, the music never idles or devolves into the esoteric, for the constant audience demands their unrelenting energy and runs an electric current through everything they produce.

Games and Sports:
Bay Area Bike Rentals
Take a ride around the lake on the new bike path; free rentals provided by Bay Area Bikes. Rentals will be limited to 1 hour so that we can spread the love to more who want to give it a go. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult; credit card and ID will need to be provided and all participants will be required to sign a release. Helmets included and are required for under those under 18 years.
Cirquedelic is a wide ranged group of circus, dance, and fire arts performers from all over the Bay. A multifaceted and unique group whose love for their arts is wildly obvious.
Betty from LucasHooping offers hoops of all sizes for everyone to give it a whirl to some rockin music. If you can walk, you can hoop.
